QUALITY ASSURANCE & TESTING ENGINEERS (Q.A.T.E.) was established in 1989 as a division of Travaglini Nominees Pty Ltd. Operating from a small office in Morley, Western Australia, the company offered metallurgical, NDT and quality related consultancy services and established various agencies for the sale of technical equipment.

Following a merger with Q.A. Management Services Pty Ltd in 1992, the consultancy aspect of the business was transferred to Q.A. Management Services, whilst the equipment sales continued to be handled under Q.A.T.E. Although now only a small part of the Q.A. Management Services group, Q.A.T.E has continued to play an important role in supplying the Western Australian petroleum and mining companies, water and power utilities/and general engineering contractors with sophisticated technical equipment..

In Australia, inspection and testing equipment supplied by Q.A.T.E. can be seen in such reputable organisations as Woodside Offshore Petroleum, WAPET, Nabalco Gove, BHP Iron Ore, Hamersley Iron, Alcoa, Western Mining, Tiwest and KCGM to name a few. Sales to the wider Asia-Pacific region have also included Hong Kong, Malaysia and Bangladesh.

In 1996, management resolved to expand Q.A.T.E.'s product range and to enter into the rental services market in a serious manner. This has in turn led to a revitalised marketing thrust by Q.A.T.E. in order to ensure targeted market share acquisition.
